My second novel is finished. I mean, well, "finished" meaning the entire story is down on the page, the final sentences are written and doing exactly what they ought'er do, every character has grown, and changed, and reached a certain point in his/her tale, poised to follow the road to new adventures. OH thank God that you are writing a follow up to Where the Lake Becomes the River! I'm so excited my fingers can't keep up with my joy. I just 10 minutes ago finished reading your wonderful book. Wonderful really doesn't do it justice, however, it's 4:35 AM and I'm seriously sleep deprived, having been unable to put this delight down until I knew what was next and next and next, 'til the end! Having lived in MS from 1975 thru 2005, this book has been like a taste of home and then some. I was born in NC and moved to MS in'75. I've often said that there is a book inside me, just waiting to get out. Your book has lifted, inspired, amazed, bedazzeled and just been such a gift! I don't mean to "gush", let's just say I am a fan for life and can't wait to read whatever you write in the future. I do so hope to hear more of Parrish and what life has held for her!

Frances, thank you so much for your kind and generous comments about WHERE THE LAKE. I'm happy you enjoyed it--the best thing about writing a novel is co-creating that world with a savvy reader who brings her own experience and wisdom to the story, sparking it into being. Without you, the reader, it's just a lump of inert pages covered with little marks of ink. I do believe you'll like the next one, which also is pretty quirky, and has ample metaphysical goings-on in it, including a ghost-- the Piper himself. All the best,
